Rarely do board members enter into their roles with any great depth of board expertise, yet nonprofit organizations count on them for leadership. Let’s discuss both the legal responsibilities of board leadership and the real purpose and roles of providing board members with understanding and engagement to deepen their board experience and its benefits to the organization, focusing on the three essential board roles as defined by BoardSource:

  • Ensuring resources
  • Providing oversight
  • Setting direction and strategy

We will also share a tool for enlisting and motivating board members so that you can make the most of their board terms.

Be sure to invite your Exectutive Directors to attend with you. It will be a great conversation for the team.
