Recognizing Purposeful Action During the Time of COVID-19 and Social Injustice
The Association of Fundraising Professionals’ (AFP) annual awards program usually honors the significant role philanthropy plays in enriching our local and global communities. However, 2020 has created a different time for us all. In recognition of the significant work local organizations are doing in support of those impacted by COVID-19, and social injustice, the Lowcountry Chapter of AFP would like to introduce Purposeful Action. Purposeful Action recognizes local organizations for their work supporting those impacted by COVID-19 and social injustice in 2020 while also telling their story on what they hope to accomplish in the months and years to come.
We are proud to announce the following organizations have been selected –
This year's speaker will be Michael Boulware Moore. Mr. Moore joined Blackbaud in early 2020 following his tenure as the founding president and CEO of the International African American Museum in Charleston, SC.
There will be no registration fee for this year’s NPD Virtual Celebration, thanks to our generous sponsors.
In honor of National Philanthropy Day, Change the World with a Giving Heart, please consider donating to recognize the outstanding work of The Charleston Forum and LowCountry Local First for their Purposeful Action during the time of COVID-19 and Social Injustice. Any gifts made to AFP SC Lowcountry will be split evenly between the organizations.
